Ingredients: Raw rice flour, Roasted gram powder/Pottukadalai

Ingredients to add:
Please add the below ingredients with Leela’s murukku Flour,

  • Ajwain/ omam or sesame seeds – 1 teaspoon
  • Asafetida – 1 generous pinch
  • Hot oil/Butter – 1 tablespoon
  • salt – Required

Cooking Instructions & tips:

  1. Place all the ingredients in a mixing bowl, mix well.
  2. Add hot oil from the kadai or 2 spoons of butter and mix well.
  3. Add water gradually and carefully to make a smooth dough.
  4. If murukku breaks while you press, then sprinkle little more water to make it smoother dough.
  5. Keep the dough always covered using small cloth to avoid drying.
  6. Heat required oil in a kadai.
  7. Drop the murukku in the hot oil and  cook both the sides.
  8. Once the bubbles reduced, take out the murukku from hot oil.
  9. Take a paper towel and drain the excess oil.
  10. Once cool down, store it in an airtight container.
